Question 1

Do you copy Salto fobs?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we copy most Salto MIFARE credentials at both shops.

Question 2

How much does a key fob copy cost?

Accepted Answer

Regular 125 kHz fobs (HID Prox, Kantech ioProx, CDVI, ICT, AWID, Keri) are $20. High-frequency 13.56 MHz MIFARE fobs are $35, HID iCLASS is $39–$45, and AES-encrypted DESFire fobs start at $99. Garage remotes are $65–$75 and UHF parking tags are $75. Every price is confirmed after a free reading, before any work begins.

Question 3

How long does fob copying take?

Accepted Answer

Most standard proximity fobs are done in under five minutes while you wait. High-frequency and encrypted credentials take 10–20 minutes because every sector has to be read and verified. We test every copy against your original before you leave.

Question 4

Do I need an appointment?

Accepted Answer

No — walk-ins are welcome at both our Toronto and Mississauga locations during opening hours. Booking a free appointment just means we hold a slot for you and have the right blank ready when you arrive.

Question 5

Can you copy my fob from a photo?

Accepted Answer

A photo tells us the likely technology and price, which is why the Fob Checker is useful before you travel. It cannot capture the credential data itself, so we still need the physical fob in front of a reader to make the copy.

Question 6

What if my fob cannot be copied?

Accepted Answer

You pay nothing. Some encrypted credentials are locked down by the building's configuration and no shop can duplicate them. If we cannot complete your copy there is no charge, and we will tell you exactly why.

Question 7

Is there a warranty?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every fob copy carries a one-year warranty. If it stops working at your building within that year, bring it back and we will replace it free of charge.

Question 8

Am I allowed to copy my building fob?

Accepted Answer

You need to be the authorized holder of the credential — a registered owner, tenant or someone acting with their permission. Some condo declarations and leases restrict duplication, so it is worth checking your agreement. We ask every customer to confirm they are authorized before we start.

Question 9

Are your prices before or after tax?

Accepted Answer

All listed prices are before tax. If you pay cash, we cover the tax for you.

Question 10

Do you offer bulk pricing?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Property managers, landlords and offices ordering five or more copies get volume pricing. Tell us your quantity in the booking form or the Fob Checker and we will quote you.

Question 11

Can I scan my fob with my phone?

Accepted Answer

Only partly, and only for some fobs. Phones have a 13.56 MHz NFC radio, so they can detect MIFARE, DESFire and iCLASS credentials. They have no 125 kHz antenna at all, so the most common condo fobs — HID Prox, Kantech ioProx, AWID and Keri — are invisible to any phone. For those, send us a photo through the Fob Checker instead.
