Fob Checker

Find out what your fob is — and what it costs

Send a couple of photos and a technician will identify the credential, confirm whether it can be copied, and give you the exact price. Free, and no obligation to go ahead.

1. What does it look like?

A rough guess is fine — it just helps us triage. We confirm the real technology from your photos.

2. Send us photos

Both sides of the credential, in good light, close enough to read any printed numbers. Those numbers are usually what identifies it.

3. Where do we send the answer?

Optional — faster if we need a clearer photo

Free, with no obligation. We reply with the exact price.

Why not just scan it with my phone?

Phones only have a 13.56 MHz NFC radio. The most common condo fobs — HID Prox, Kantech ioProx, AWID, Keri — run at 125 kHz, and no phone has an antenna for that band. Photos work for every credential type, which is why we ask for them.

Phone scanning soon

We are building an app that reads 13.56 MHz credentials — MIFARE, DESFire, iCLASS — directly from your phone and prices them on the spot. It will complement this page, not replace it.

What makes a good photo

  • Both sides of the fob, filling most of the frame
  • Good light, no flash glare across printed text
  • Any part numbers legible — 1326, P20DYE, iCLASS, Salto
  • A photo of the building's reader helps for tricky cases

Catalog

37 credentials we already support

Recognise yours in this list and you can skip straight to booking. If it is not here, send photos anyway — the catalog is not exhaustive.

Low frequency (125 kHz)

No phone can read this band

The most common condo and office credential in the GTA. Stores a simple number with no encryption, which is why copies are fast and inexpensive. No phone can read this band — there is no 125 kHz antenna in any iPhone or Android.

High frequency (13.56 MHz)

Phone can read this band

Smart-card credentials with real memory and, in the encrypted variants, AES keys. This is the band your phone's NFC radio uses, so a phone can identify the chip family — though copying still needs a proper reader-writer.
